Khalil's Relationship with Social Media Evolution

Image
Khalil’s Evolution of Social Media  For years the sport of football has helped me meet new people and become a better person. When I started playing for the Inglewood Jets it was foreign to me. Note that at the time when I first started playing flag football in 2004 social media wasn’t around. Well at least it wasn’t used a lot at all.    So my first year was fun, we went to the Super bowl and won. It is cool now that I think about it because we had a team highlight tape on DVD. So you had to have a DVD player or a computer that let you insert disk. On that team we were very close knit because it was most of our first year playing football.  The next year I started playing tackle football, I was on a different team and the only person I knew on my team was cousin Corey. I imagined that it would be amazing to play with someone that I was always with. Unfortunately, it was complete opposite, I didn’t play a lot at all. My parents felt some type of way about be...

People Always Find Out

Due to social media profiles like: theshaderoom , balleralert , houseofhighlights , worldstar , information from across the globe gets brought to attention. Those profiles are all used to post sarcastic, educational, vulgar, and funny. I’ll give four examples of the different kinds of posts. Sarcasm, there is a guy named Lavar Ball that is the father of three future NBA superstars. A reporter once asked him if he could beat Michael Jordan in a game of 1 on 1 basketball. He said that he could. Shortly after a meme was made with Lavar Ball’s college stats, which were pretty bad. Educational, during black history month certain icons get magnified we then learn more about them. At that time pictures and information about the person are being posted. Vulgar, street fights are posted daily on social media because it is deemed as a form of entertainment. Funny, usually comedians have hilarious posts. For instance Mike Epps.  CCO: http://technmarketing.com/2017/02/p...

Opposites Don't Always Attract

I can compare communicating with a group in person to interacting with a group online. It is a resemblance to having a conversation with someone through text rather than in person. With interacting with a group resemblances texting and being in a group in person being resembles having a conversation in person. An example is my current group in our ESOC 211 class. When we first got our group together in my opinion we did not communicate much at all because we were not use to each other. Before the class was ended we all got each other’s phone numbers and made a group chat. So we combined communicating in person with communicating online. It was pretty awesome to see us connect with one another so easily because of the same interest. We all want to do well in the class and eventually get an A. We’ll all work hard together during our times we have group assignments.  CCO Image:  http://www.mobypicture.com/user/ediblearia/view/10376737

Everybody Needs A Hand

An interesting example of Collective Intelligence is the University of Arizona football coaching staff . In a coaching staff you have a head coach, assistant coaches, trainers, and interns. So together they all have the mindset/goal to win and get the best players to their university. Rich Rodriguez is the head coach. There are two different types of assistant coaches. One type of assistant coach helps him coach specific positions like the quarterback, running back, etc. Then you have strength coaches that help get those players stronger in the weight room and help them stay in shape. Then you have trainers that help players that have injuries. Football is a sport that injuries happen often. So it is important that you have the best staff suited to cure the player’s injuries. Last you have interns that are on the coaching staff but don’t receive pay. Interns are usually students at the university that use to play themselves for the university. Together this staff has to...
